Love this idea; wish it was true. Maybe I’m just jaded because I remove tattoos for a living, but I see so much regret every single day.
Now before I get too far into this diatribe let me say this: I do not think tattooed people hate tattoos. On the contrary I think most people, tattooed or not, love and appreciate theirs and others. The problem is not with the art form; it’s a simple case of poor choices. Names and Weddings rings? Fine idea, but remember tattoos are (supposed to be) forever. Love? Well that’s another story all together. What about those bitchin’ $20 tattoos? That sweet deal might sound great while you’re shellin’ out the dinero, but as they say, you get what you pay for.
If I could reword this meme it would say, “We will never regret being tattooed.” This statement encompasses so much more. It speaks of the decision, experience, artwork, and culture. Personally I’m not one to embrace regret. Yeah I’ve got plenty of bad tattoos, but I don’t regret being tattooed. There are some things I would like fixed, changed, and/or removed, but virgin skin? No thank you. With every new tattoo I feel more alive and that much happier in my own skin.
People, please think before you get tattooed. Or not. Life is too short to live with regret, and too boring not to take risks. It’s your body do with it as you will. And if you make some mistakes, well that’s why I got into the laser business.
